Libraries and DMCA

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) helps libraries when it comes to possible copyright infringement. Libraries can comply with DMCA by posting a notice on library Web pages with information on who to contact should copyright infringment take place on the page. The library should also have takedown procedures in place, should infringement occur. For more complete information on DMCA, visit www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf

I enjoyed reading your posting about library copyright. Your personal info was really well done too! I have a comment about the voting...I couldn't vote...I don't do any of those things! I was looking for email as a choice. (Or playing scrabble online!) I suppose now I can add blogging to my list!

Marissa, my head is spinning a bit from all the information, but I appreciate you linking to it! I don't know if you've seen my blog about the libray I work for and copyright policy, but, posting notices and procedures would surely be beneficial!

Interesting topic -- and worthwhile! I like the updated posts and your classmates are leaving you great comments. It is nice to see the picture, too. Nice job!
